Each uses Clean questions to invite you to tune in to different aspects of your experience. If you are new to meditation don't worry - there is nothing magical or mystical about this practice. Your are not aiming to clear your mind, but rather notice what is on your mind as you bring the focus of your attention to any particular aspect of your experience.
